The legal status of abortion doesn't predict whether abortions occur. It predicts whether they are safe.

Thirty years of study into the well-being . . . of the children of gay and lesbian parents reveals that the kids are turning out just fine, thank you. Studies show no appreciable differences from the children of heterosexual parents.

Liberal Quotes of the Week
You need certification in this country to be a butcher, a barber or a manicurist, but only 12 states require any training to take care of children.
-- Gail Collins
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes.

You see, they [Conservatives] love America the way a four-year-old loves her mommy. Liberals love America like grown-ups. To a four-year-old everything mommy does is wonderful and anyone who criticizes mommy is bad. Grown-up love means understanding what you love, taking the good with the bad, and helping your loved one grow.

Ford Introduced as Challenger to Yokley
Now, I worked for Eddie last campaign. And, let me tell you, you won't find anyone more genuine and humble than Eddie Yokley. I am proud to call Eddie Yokley a friend. He has served this district and this state very well, and deserves to be reelected. I talked to Eddie recently and he is as upbeat as ever, and very much looking forward to the race.
It will be an interesting one, I'm sure.

Lincoln Davis for Governor?? Apparently so.
It's 2007, over a year away from the Presidential elections, and Lincoln Davis has already declared he's running for Governor in 2010. News is HFJ is also interested.
Now, I like both Davis and HFJ, so this one could be a toss-up for me. HFJ obviously has higher name recognition, so I would think he would be the clear front-runner. But, Davis does have quite a large district.
Maybe it's just me.....but isn't all this a just bit premature? Oh well, it should be interesting, nonetheless.
